Ambassador students will help strengthen a culture of sustainable development

The Sustainable Kazakhstan Research Institute has launched a new area of work — Narxoz Student ambassadors. Now, not only high-level leadership meetings, but also an initiative group of students will contribute to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The mission of the “Sustainable Kazakhstan” Institute is to promote research aimed at developing solutions to the most pressing problems of sustainable development not only in Kazakhstan but also abroad.

The institution’s vision of sustainable development is a world where prosperity is measured by social and environmental well-being.

In the near future, SKRI intends to strengthen partnerships, conduct quality research that contributes to the achievement of well-being, both in Kazakhstan and around the world.

The main activity of the ambassadors is to disseminate information about the activities of the center that they represent. The ambassador student will work on two fronts: not only to assist research, but also to form a culture of sustainable development at the Narxoz University and Kazakhstan.

“The idea to create such a direction appeared in connection with ongoing measures to stimulate sustainable development and the adaptation of the learning process for its implementation. We strive to provide an opportunity for everyone to acquire knowledge, skills and values that will help to make a significant contribution to the process of achieving sustainable development goals. I am sure that new team members represented by our ambassadors will help motivate students and other stakeholders to be engaged in this new paradigm shift of sustainable development, ”admits SKRI Director Brendan Duprey.

The ambassadors have launched a series of awareness raising campaigns both on and off campus with additional activities foreseen for this year. If you would like to participate in this initiative please contact us at sustainable.solutions@narxoz.kz
