Results of the trip in partnership with Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences

From November 18 to November 25, 2019 Narxoz University team participated in the international week on «Mission Sustainable» at the partner university in Netherlands, the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS):

  • Anna Nagornova, Director of Accreditation and Quality Assurance at Narxoz Business School
  • Aibar Sharipov, Advisor of International Relations program in School of Society, Technology and the Environment
  • Pavel Nartov, Lecturer of General Education Faculty

International week at AUAS was devoted to sustainability theme, where industry professionals, academics, policy makers and inspiring leaders delivered various lectures. Narxoz University team delivered an interesting blend of topics covering Kazakhstan and Central Asian social, political, educational and business milieu. Specifically, lecturers talked about the development of higher education in Kazakhstan, development of sustainable country and the city of Almaty, cultural peculiarities of business communication in Kazakhstan, investment to Central Asia and a few Central Asian entrepreneurial cases were discussed. AUAS students, faculty and staff got acquainted with the culture of the Kazakh people the peculiarities of Kazakh etiquette and in turn shared the family and friendship values in the Dutch culture.

The trip was very fruitful where future collaborative projects and deep partnerships were discussed.

Narxoz University and AUAS are strategic partners since 2017. Within two years, 5 students participated in exchange programs and spent a semester abroad. Back in 2018, 5 faculty members of Narxoz University participated in the International Week and two AUAS faculty visited Narxoz. This partnership and deep cooperation were made possible with the European Erasmus+ academic mobility program for students and teachers. One of the outcomes of this year’s trip is an introduction of online collaborative course where Narxoz University and AUAS students will meet to collectively work on the project in the area of Intercultural business communication. Online course starts in Spring 2020.

Narxoz Global accepts applications for online course from January 10, 2020. The main criteria are: good knowledge of English (level B2), commitment to fulfil a three-month course from February to April 2020. Throughout the program, students will closely work with AUAS students and jointly implement one project. As a result, students will receive a certificate from AUAS and Narxoz University for completing the course. Seats are limited, only up to 12 students.
